Production & Importing

In a sea of questions, we have answers

PRODUCTION & IMPORTING

Why do this?

You’re new to eyewear production

You are a small to mid-sized lifestyle brand who wants to offer eyewear but don’t know the supply chain process or have the proper import licenses.

You’re looking for low quantity orders

You’re having trouble because license companies and manufacturers are not structured to fulfill your low order count.

You need trusted manufacturers

You’d like to build an established roster of reliable, high-quality, eyewear manufacturers for production.

You want to implement quality control

You are not fully content with your products’ quality and need a robust process so you can offer the highest perceived value for the price point to your customers.

You’re new to importing

You would like to offer sun eyewear to your customers, but don’t have an FDA eyewear import license and are unfamiliar with the logistics, duties, regulations around shipping & customs.

How is it done?

1 Sourcing

Our roster of material and eyewear manufacturers spans across Italy, Japan, France, China and the US. Usually these are the best in the business, built over eight years of mutual trust and well-cultivated relationships.

Quantity, suggested retail price, materials, hardware, and timing all play significant factors to determine the best way to source materials and bring it all together.

After we get estimates, we present the numbers to you around MOQ and sample & production timelines for both eyewear and packaging.

2 Production

Working with factories you trust is absolutely essential and the only way to get the best quality product.

After estimates have been agreed to, they are followed by a production order to signal all systems go.

Once a Proforma Invoice is issued, an upfront deposit is paid to the manufacturer so they can purchase material for production.

We confirm timelines, answer any material related questions and schedule quality control inspections.

As a final step, we review & revise technical drawings as needed until final sign-off.

Production starts.

3 Quality Control

To mitigate any inaccuracies, we have detail-focused inspectors on the ground, who are local to each production.

During the entire production process, we will schedule inspections with the factory to review workmanship quality, measurements, fit, color, branding, and hardware.

Each inspection is followed up with a report summary and photos so we have complete transparency around manufacturing progress and any issues that need attention.

4 Logistics & Importing

Because of our official FDA Import License we are qualified to import eyewear from overseas and get them through customs quickly.

Having a reliable, well-communicating Freight Forwarder or Forwarding Agent company to ship the goods is key.

These relationships help us to find the most feasible & cost-efficient shipping method.

During transit, we will follow up & track all customs & shipping details with the Forwarder until goods arrive for inspection.

5 Final Inspection

To ensure an impeccable product, we have a licensed optician sit down and inspect each frame, one-by-one, against our technical drawings and high standards.

If needed, frames are expertly adjusted before being sent to their final destination.

6 Delivery

The final part of the trip is totally up to you. Tell us what you need and we’ll make it happen. Need to get the goods to HQ? Check. To a specific store? No problem. Need split deliveries? Totally ok. We’re here to make your life easy.
